Crust Cruising in the Park

With nothing but dry sagebrush all around, I had my doubts. I was about to turn around in search of higher ground and actual snow cover when I saw a ribbon of white leading away from the road and down into the creek. Within a few feet I was crust cruising and it was awesome! I had to bridge a few thin spots, take off my skis once, and slide thru between the cobbles where it was dicey. This thin strip of wind deposited snow overlooks Cottonwood Creek, and offered great conditions and views!... albeit a bit side hilly... Great fun and a score to find skiing with so little of the white stuff around!
